This is one of my favorite movies. If you haven't seen it you need to. Its raw, bloody, funny and a beautiful peice of art. Its a film about vigilantism and whether it is ever justifiable. I don't want to ruin it for you so just leave your house right now go down to your store and rent it. Thank you.

This movie Sucked. Its your typical electronic is coming to kill you formula. Except its like a SciFi Channel version, they don't even show you any of the deaths its like here comes the bad guy closeup on victim screaming, tada they're dead. I like the blonde girls hair, it inspired me to chop off my locks but to hell with this movie, maybe 11-13 year olds will like it but if you hit puberty don't waste your money on this one.

The Lake House

Now maybe it was just because I was on my period but I liked this movie. After hearing the concept of this movie where they write eachother 2 years apart, I wanted to see how they were gonna pull this one off. Throughout the movie you wonder the same thing, is he a ghost, is she just crazy, or could it all actually be happening. It sends you off with a nice warm feeling at the end. The house is beautiful too, I wouldn't mind living there. A Perfect date movie.

Iraq for Sale

If you want to watch a movie that will piss you off this is the one. This is a documentary by Robert Greenwald who takes you overseas to the corrupt greed infested war. This isn't about the military but the the activities of the four biggest war profiteers: Haliburton, Kellogg Brown & Root, CACI, and Blackwater it shows how the american people are being taken advantage of, how the lives of there employees aren't equal to the dollar signs, how we're being overcharged approxmitely $115 billion dollars, and how they have a strong hold in white house that lets them get away with everything, even more then everything they're profit goes up 200% and the sad thing is it doesn't look like its gonna end anytime soon. You and everyone you know should watch this movie, host showings of it because its only us the American People that will make a difference. We gotta turn america around before its too late.

Thank you for Smoking

So I went into this movie thinking it was suppose to be hilarious, I mean I chuckled a few times but I didn't find it to be too much of a comedy. At times I even felt like I was watching a movie about the interworkings of the tabacco company. But don't get me wrong I still found it enjoyable. Its a story about a man Nick Naylor who is a lobbyist for Big Tobacco he can talk his way out of anything and somehow always turns the tables to make them look like the good guy. It also is a story about his son following him around from job to job to see what his father does. He looks up to his dad and wonders if he's really one of the bad guys. Meanwhile there is a whole side story with Katie Holmes as a reporter he nails, this is the whole big scene that Tom Cruise cried about and at the premier they magically had technical difficulties during that scene, gah I hate Tom Cruise. So after an attack of Nicotine patches Nick gets slammed with the reporters article causing him to lose his job, friends, and now he can't even smoke. In the end he does what he does best, talk bullshit, ditches the company and comes out as a hero to his son. I liked it but I dunno all the other cast members and there scenes seemed really irrelevant to the movie sometimes, almost just to fill up time. So You might like it, I'll just say its "alright"

Hard Candy

Just finished watching this one, pretty intense. It starts with your typical Montel senario with a 14 year old girl meeting up with an older man whom she met on the internet. He is aparently a photographer and after meeting at a coffee shop Hailey the young girl goes home with him. You think you know where this is going but you are rightfully wrong. Hailey isn't quite what she seems, hmm maybe carrying around those big medical text books could have been a sign. Lets just say it'll be the first time you see a 14 year old girl do a castration. It gets a little insane but the whole movie is at a slow but steady pace. It could have been shorter its a little under 2 hours but its shot beautifully. Not everyone's cup of tea but if your into those indie creeping movies you'll like it.

An Introduction

Well hello there and welcome to my new blog. My name is Cait and I am the Ultimate Video Store Girl, what are my references you ask? Well I have been working in Independent Video Stores since I was 16 so for about six years. I have seen every movie under the sun or atleast I try to. I have also been without cable for about a year so my movie intake is definitely ridiculous. So what am I gonna do with all this movie knowledge? Give it to the people of course. Because your already dishing out what $8 at the theater $4 at the store and doesn't it suck when the movie is terrible. You can whine about your money or beg for those hours of your life back or you can just stop listening to the bullshit Hollywood is trying to dish out to ya and listen to someone who's life is movies. And I'm fair, yes I have my own personal preference to movies especially Asian Horror, Dark Comedys, Indies, Sappy Chick Flicks and of course anything by Mr. Quentin Tarantino. But at the store thats not always the general consenses, so I try to watch everything else equally like Kids, Family, Action, Drama, Comedy, Hollywood Blockbusters and Kung Fu. So I'm just gonna start doing a little review on all the movies I watch and on some of my favorite older titles which you might have missed or just to remind you how awesome they are and worthy of a rental. Its exciting having older titles released on DVD I love when they use the bonus features to the fullest. Like the Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD which comes with a version of the infamous Theater shows which will make you feel like your right there in the audience. I'm not saying I'm the god of all movie reviews either, you might disagree with what I have to say time to time but these are just my expeirienced opinions here for your enjoyment.
